Details
A hardware scheduler separates the task scheduling unit from the operating system and hands it to a dedicated hardware unit, for real-time connected embedded systems.
Because the hardware scheduler has direct access to the processing units and can control each one in parallel, it is expected to increase efficiency and manage hardware resources better than an OS can in multi-core systems.
The published work extends this into a security-aware scheduler for modern multi-core systems under hard real-time constraints.
