Vicinia Desk

Despite the widespread availability of online maps with routing and positioning tools, integrated routing systems for buildings, commercial centres, universities and hospitals have yet to be fully developed.

This project addresses that need by providing indoor routing capabilities, information services, and an integrated anti-theft system for building equipment. As a developer on the project, my role involved developing both the front-end and back-end parts of the kiosk admin, the back office.

Since then the desk has grown into the multi-tenant admin for the whole Vicinia platform, now on Angular 19, and I am still its top contributor with more than 2,600 commits. It manages campuses, buildings, places and outdoor zones, indoor maps through the Vicinia Maps library, shuttle routes with real-time tracking, space booking, parking, kiosks, QR codes and themes.
