Efficient Scheduling of Dependent Tasks in Many-Core Real-Time System Using a Hardware Scheduler

Real-time many-core systems often run tasks that depend on each other, which makes scheduling harder. In this hardware scheduler, the operating system picks the tasks that can be scheduled with EDF, groups related tasks by their dependencies, and passes the groups to dedicated hardware, which then assigns them to the cores. The paper shows how many more tasks it gets through on time compared with earlier work.
